WEBWIRE

Super Camps Ltd has launched a new campaign to raise much needed funds for its charities, Super Camps South Africa, and Super Club South Africa.

Super Camps are offering four children the chance to become the Face of Super Camps 2010 by being featured in 2010 marketing material, as well as earning £400 worth of camps. To enter, photographs featuring the Super Camps logo must be submitted, and a donation made to the charity.

Super Camps’ Internal Operations Manager, Morag Groves said, “Last year, we raised over £16,000 for Super Camps South Africa, and we’re so proud of that. The Face of Super Camps campaign gives us another chance to contribute further to a charity that does such vital work, not to mention engaging our audience in some creative fun”.

Details about the campaign and full instructions on how to enter can be found at www.supercamps.co.uk/supercamps_charity.

Super Camps South Africa is a residential camp programme for disadvantaged children in the Western Cape. Many children live in severe poverty, often without their parents and often in cramped unhealthy conditions. The week-long camps give children the opportunity to get away from their daily life, play games without danger, learn valuable life skills, sleep in a bed, get three meals a day and even a new tracksuit.

Super Club South Africa is a day camp based in a township called Kayamundi in Stellenbosh (near Cape Town). The day camp is run on a grass field on the edge of the township and allows children to play and enjoy themselves in a safe environment as well as learning some basic life skills along the way. A lot of children attending care for younger siblings and often bring them to the camp with them. This means our youngest campers can be just a year old.

All the children who attend both the residential and day camps deal with poverty, HIV/Aids, violence and other such challenges on a daily basis. Our camps give them a small opportunity to just be children - something often taken for granted here in the UK.

Regulated and monitored by Ofsted, Super Camps in the UK provide reliable childcare during school holidays, as well as introducing youngsters to a range of activities not always available at after-school clubs or during term time including Grand Prix kart racing, quad biking, archery, trampolining, drama, football, tennis, swimming and climbing.

Super Camps operate a range of multi-activity day camps during half-term, Summer, Easter and Christmas breaks at nearly 70 sites across the UK.
