Mike Jenkins and Nick Palladino have been named senior producer and producer, respectively, for Wake Up With Al, the new morning show on The Weather Channel®. Hosted by Al Roker live from New York City and TWC meteorologist Stephanie Abrams live from Atlanta, the show debuts July 20. In these new positions, Jenkins will oversee the show from Atlanta while Palladino will produce from New York.

No stranger to weather, Jenkins previously worked as an executive producer at WTVJ-TV in Miami where he developed and produced weather specials, managed the weather department, and coordinated coverage for severe weather and hurricane season. In his 15 years at NBC’s WTVJ, Jenkins produced several documentaries, including “Dreams of Alaska,” “Climate in Crisis” and “Andrew, 15 years later.”

Jenkins also served as the executive producer of sports at WTVJ and the managing editor for the NBC Local Media Division at the 2006 Torino Winter Games and the 2008 Beijing Summer Games, where he helped produce “The Olympic Zone,” a nightly half-hour special for all NBC-owned stations. While with WTVJ, Jenkins won 11 regional Emmy Awards for sports, weather and editing.

Palladino worked as an associate producer at NBC for the “Today” show, where he won a 2007 Emmy Award for outstanding morning program. He worked on daily segments as well as special assignments such as coverage of Hurricane Katrina and the 2006 Winter Games in Torino. Prior to producing, Palladino worked as a researcher for NBC News archives and as a sports writer for a daily newspaper in Naugatuck, Conn.

Wake Up With Al is a one-hour program that will debut July 20 and air weekdays from 6-7 a.m. ET on The Weather Channel. The morning show will explore all aspects of the day’s weather, with Roker and Abrams appearing both in the studio, interacting with guests and viewers, and in the field, reporting on the most compelling weather stories of the day.
