The contest is now accepting fan-made Star Wars spoofs and documentaries until its March 8 submission deadline.

Entrants in this year“s Fan Film Awards will compete for the George Lucas Selects Award, which comes with a cash prize of $2,000 and the recognition of George Lucas, who selects the competition”s best film. Winners of all prizes will be announced at Lucasfilm"s massive Star Wars Celebration III fan event, which will take place April 21-24 in Indianapolis, Indiana, just weeks before the long-awaited theatrical release of Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.


The official support and participation of Lucasfilm have made the Star Wars Fan Film Awards the world“s premier fan film event. Finalists in past competitions have been viewed over 10,000,000 times at AtomFilms” Fan Film Awards Web site, and this year"s event is expected to attract both a record number of submissions and a record audience.
