Round-the-clock, safe and secure access to accounts from mobile phones.

Manila – Citibank Philippines’ more than one million clients now need only their mobile phones to check their account information, pay bills and transfer money.

Leading the way in mobile-based banking, Citi, the country’s largest foreign bank, today launched Citi Mobile Banking (CMB). A purely browser-based mobile banking solution, Citi Mobile Banking allows clients to access Citibank’s online banking site, www.citibank.com.ph from their mobile phones.

With CMB, Citi clients can securely manage their banking needs, including checking account balance and making payments, from their mobile handsets, at any time and from any location. There is no need to download any new application to their devices, or register to begin enjoying the service. It is automatically accessible to all current Citibank Online users.

Current non-online users simply need to register for their online account on a computer and they can immediately access and enjoy the convenience of Citi Mobile Banking.

CMB is available to subscribers of all networks - Globe, Smart and Sun. In addition, CMB detects when a customer is accessing http://www.citibank.com.ph from a mobile phone and automatically directs the customer to the mobile banking site. This provides the customer with the solution that is specially designed for ease of use on their mobile phones.

“Citibank is proud to launch this new and innovative financial services offering for our clients,” said Sanjiv Vohra, Country Head and Citi Country Officer for the Philippines.

“Our clients are increasingly dependent on their mobile devices for their everyday life. With Citi’s latest solution, they can now incorporate financial management on their mobile phones, accessing their credit card and bank accounts and conducting a range of financial transactions conveniently and securely regardless of time and location,” said Vohra.

CMB is the result of collaboration between Citi and its affiliate, Mobile Money Ventures, LLC, a leading global solutions provider of the next generation of mobile financial services.

To ensure the highest level of security, CMB utilizes dual-factor authentication. In addition, transactions are encrypted and no financial information is stored on the mobile device.

CMB is part of an impressive suite of mobile-based banking services from Citibank Philippines that includes:

* Citi Mobile SMS Banking, allowing cardholders to inquire about their available balance, payment due and due date via text message.
* Citi Mobile Payments, where cardholders, after a one-time registration, can order food and flowers for delivery to their location of choice, pay bills and purchase prepaid “load” for cellular phones and Internet.
* Citi Alerts, where cardholders and banking clients can pre-register to receive a set of SMS and email alerts to stay on top of their accounts. Alerts range from large deposits and withdrawals to time deposit maturity to fraud notification.

Vohra stated, “We are committed to harnessing the latest technology to deliver best-in-class products and services to our clients. We understand their need for a better, faster and secure banking experience that complements their lifestyles and that’s what we will continue to deliver.”
