Telenor to offer international top-up vouchers

(Fornebu, 17 February 2006) Telenor extends its offering to customers on RingKontant and djuice kontant subscription plans. Customers can now top up their accounts by buying prepaid vouchers when travelling abroad.

It is the membership in the Starmap Mobile Alliance that allows Telenor to offer all its RingKontant and djuice kontant customers to buy to-up vouchers when travelling abroad. By buying vouchers from the respective alliance operators, customers can top up their accounts in the same way that they are accustomed to with Telenor’s top-up vouchers in Norway.

“ The new solution will give customers more flexibility, and make it easier for them when they are on their travels. Our customers may of course also top up their accounts using SMS, or the Internet, when travelling abroad,” said Director Consumer Mobile at Telenor in Norway, Jon Erik Haug.

The top-up solution is offered through the following operators in eight different countries:

O2 in the UK, Ireland and Germany, Wind in Italy, Sonofon in Denmark, Amena in Spain, sunrise in Switzerland and Pannon in Hungary.

The Starmap Mobile Alliance has 11 members: Amena (Spain), Eurotel (Czech Republic), O2 (Germany, UK and Ireland), ONE (Austria), Pannon (Hungary), Sonofon Denmark), sunrise (Switzerland), Telenor (Norway) and Wind (Italy). The membership companies have a total customer base of more than 63 million.
