Butlins to host UK’s first ‘Social Networking Woodstock’

Butlins, the popular UK holiday destination, is to host the UK’s first social networking weekender. The event in conjunction with fuelmyblog.com and Net.works takes place from 19th-21st June at Butlins Bognor Regis. It will combine all the fun of a British holiday resort with the instant engagement of online networking.

Fuelmyblog’s Kevin Dixie said: “People involved at the highest level of the UK’s social media including Google, BT, and Microsoft are going to be attending what looks set to be a ground breaking networking event.”

To celebrate this unique event; Butlins has teamed up with Corky’s Vodka Shots to create the ‘Twitter’ and ‘Butlins’ cocktails. From opposite ends of the spectrum the ‘Twitter’ is an exciting fruity drink which dramatically changes colour and the ‘Butlins’ is a creamy, red drink inspired by the in season strawberry.

Butlins Bognor Regis Resort Director, Jeremy Pardey can’t wait to show the social networkers what Butlins is all about: “We’ve invested heavily in our Resorts over the past few years and we feel really proud of what we’ve got to offer. We’re also aware of the value in online engagement and want to show people that we are serious about connecting via social networks.”

The weekend gets underway on the Friday night with a social networking and online gaming reception, followed by live performances from Gwen Dickie’s Rose Royce and Toby Anstis. Saturday and Sunday are packed with activities including a social media go-kart Grand Prix, high rope climbing, VIP bar access and more live music.
