Demonstrates HSUPA speeds over 4Mbps

BARCELONA, Spain – 3GSM World Congress - 14 February 2006 – Motorola, Inc (NYSE: MOT) is demonstrating an enhanced mobile broadband experience at 3GSM World Congress, with High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) speeds over 4Mbps. Now, users can not only download content such as music or videos in seconds via HSDPA, but can also send and share content just as quickly.

“Motorola’s approach to mobile broadband ensures that the end user is at the center of the experience,” said Raghu Rau, senior vice president, global marketing and strategy, Motorola Networks. “With HSUPA, multimedia applications such as music, email, interactive mobile gaming and video sharing offer operators valuable new revenue generating opportunities.”

These exciting demonstrations are on display at 3GSM World Congress utilizing existing Motorola UMTS infrastructure that minimizes capital investment.

Motorola’s HSUPA demonstration builds on Motorola’s previous achievements in mobile broadband that includes the first public demonstration of HSDPA in February 2004. At 3GSM this year, Motorola is showing the all-new IP-based flat architecture of the Motorola AXPT, which reduces the complexity and cost of delivering mobile broadband indoors.

About HSUPA
HSUPA is designed to improve person-to person-communication and achieve potential peak network uplink speeds of up to 5.8Mbps that will further enhance mobile broadband services. In practice the peak network data rate capability is shared amongst multiple users at any one time and so individual user data speeds will be lower.
