NORTHBROOK, Ill. - Allstate Insurance Company (NYSE: ALL) today filed rates and policy forms with the Massachusetts Division of Insurance to re-enter the Massachusetts auto insurance market. The move marks Allstate’s return to the Bay State after a long hiatus. Allstate has targeted November 2, 2009 as its “open-for-business” date.

Massachusetts policymakers have recently adopted positive changes that make the insurance market more competitive. The recent changes set a new direction, giving insurers greater flexibility in how they serve customers and compete for business in the market.
