FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. — D-Link, a leading end-to-end networking solutions provider for consumers and business, has won the regional TechAmerica High-Tech Innovation Award for its excellence in initiating Green innovations throughout the company and its products.

At an awards presentation last week in nearby Costa Mesa, Calif. D-Link was honored for its achievements in 2008 as one of the industry’s top leaders in adopting a corporate-wide philosophy that focuses on saving the Earth’s resources by producing eco-friendly products, using non-toxic materials in manufacturing and product packaging and developing recycling programs.

Accepting the prestigious award was Carlos Casassus Fontecilla, president of D-Link Pan America. “To be a winner among so many outstanding technology companies in this thriving Southern California area is a testament to our commitment to do our part in helping save the Earth’s precious resources and provide consumers and businesses with the best possible solutions to meet their computer networking needs.”

There were three other finalists in the Harvey Mudd College Green Engineering category - Balqon Corporation, EcoTek Lighting, Inc. and Teridian Semiconductor Corp.

D-Link, which has its U.S. headquarters in Fountain Valley, Calif., also was a finalist in TechAmerica’s Private Company of the Year competition along with Enclarity, Silicon Systems, Inc. and SYSPRO. To be eligible for the awards, companies must be located in Orange County or the Inland Empire.

“This region boasts many noteworthy companies, like D-Link, that continue to serve as shining examples of how corporate America can contribute to the health and welfare of this planet. We’re excited to help highlight them,” said Don Hicks, president of the Orange County chapter of TechAmerica, formerly the American Electronics Association.
