First Live Streaming Sports Application for Android Market to Provide Fans with Unique Camera Angles of Eastern Conference Finals

NBA Digital announced today the launch of T-Mobile Close Up: NBA Eastern Conference Finals, the first live streaming sports application for the Android Market. The application will be available via the T-Mobile G1™ with Google and will provide fans with access to four unique video channels throughout the 2009 NBA Eastern Conference Finals.

The T-Mobile Close Up: NBA Eastern Conference Finals, developed in conjunction with technology providers Orb Networks and Mobile CDN, will include the following live channels during each game:

• Action Cam - Range of footage capturing the on-court action.
• Player Cam - Shots of players on the bench and on the court.
• Arena Cam - Wide shots of the court from cameras positioned above the court and outside the arena.
• Host Cam – Coverage featuring the online host, on-air announcers, and reporters.

“Our goal is to continue to set the industry standard by providing the most comprehensive, multiplatform experience possible across television, Internet and mobile platforms. We are proud to be the first live streaming sports application on T-Mobile’s G1 platform,” said Bryan Perez, Senior Vice President and General Manager of NBA Digital.

Along with live camera angles, the application will provide fans with postgame video highlights of the ongoing Conference Semifinals and continuing through the Eastern Conference Finals.

Fans will also be able to access the content online through NBA.com TNT Overtime Extra, where a mosaic player will offer the ability to watch the four live streaming camera angles at the same time.

This season, TNT is the exclusive home of the 2009 NBA Eastern Conference Finals. TNT’s coverage will feature a live studio show originating from the game locations with Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley joined by Reggie Miller for the entire series. Marv Albert and Doug Collins will call the Eastern Conference Finals, with Craig Sager reporting from the sideline.

NBA Digital is a landmark partnership between the NBA and Turner Sports to jointly manage the NBA’s digital assets, which include NBA TV, NBA.com, NBA League Pass, NBADLeague.com and WNBA.com.
