VISTAKON® Launches ACUVUE® DIRECT™

WEBWIRE

Jacksonville, FL . – VISTAKON®, a Division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc., has launched ACUVUE® DIRECT™, a new program designed to help contact lens wearers experience the most convenient and affordable way to purchase an annual supply of ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses.

Market research conducted by VISTAKON® has shown that for many patients the up-front cost of an annual supply of contact lenses is simply more than they can afford, especially during these challenging economic times. ACUVUE® DIRECT™ lets contact lens wearers spread the financial commitment out over four equal payments during the year while still being able to take advantage of cost-saving rebates.

After signing up for the program at their eye care doctor’s office, patients automatically receive a three-month supply of their prescribed ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses at quarterly intervals, mailed directly to their home. Each shipment includes a fresh contact lens case (only included in two week lens wearers’ orders) and eye health tips to encourage good lens care habits and compliance with their wearing schedule.

“Too often, contact lens wearers wear their lenses longer than they should simply because they forget to order more when they begin to run low,” says Sheila Hickson-Curran, Director, Medical Affairs, VISTAKON®. “Getting that automatic shipment in the mail is a good visual reminder that encourages better compliance. When patients have lenses on hand, they tend to replace them more regularly.”

The final shipment features a reminder to return back to their doctor’s office for an annual exam. This shipment also includes a $30 rebate offer for any ACUVUE® OASYS™ Brand Contact Lenses or a $60 rebate offer for 1•DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® Brand Contact Lenses.

ACUVUE® DIRECT™ accepts Visa, MasterCard or a flexible spending card, if the card is associated with VISA or MasterCard. Patients receive notification when lenses are scheduled to be shipped and their credit card is charged for one-fourth the cost of the annual supply. Program participants pay only the cost of the contact lenses, plus applicable sales tax. Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc. pays for all shipping and handling and the eye doctor covers other costs of the program. All payments are handled by an ACUVUE® DIRECT™ third-party business partner on behalf of participating eye doctors.

Eye doctors’ offices around the country are currently being enrolled in the ACUVUE® DIRECT™ program. Consumers should check with their eye care provider to see if he/she is currently participating in the program. For more information on ACUVUE® DIRECT™ visit www.acuvue.com/acuvue-direct.
