VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA - WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of location-based and fleet telematics services, announces the delivery of 5,000, model WT5000 Series Locators™ to Sat Company, a local Service Provider based in São Paulo, Brazil. WebTech Wireless has supplied the hardware and will earn a recurring monthly fee as the Locators are installed.

Sat Company is one of two Brazilian Service Providers through which WebTech Wireless offers Locator technology and Quadrant™ fleet management services, and has previously purchased and paid for 7,000 WebTech Locators, which they have since sold and installed. Sat Company has over 15 years’ experience in the supply of GPS systems to a number of industries, including commercial transport, insurance and personal automotive applications, and currently has more than 30,000 subscribers. WebTech’s second Service Provider in Brazil is SBTEC as announced in 2008.

“Having Sat Company as a partner in Brazil represents an increase in our activities in this lucrative market, where we have been servicing installed and revenue earning Locators since our entry in 2004,” said Anwar Sukkarié, President and CEO, WebTech Wireless. Adding that, “Emerging markets, like Brazil, often present numerous challenges in the early stages for technology innovators like WebTech, but we continue to see tremendous potential in Brazil, even in the current economic climate, and will continue to build our distribution channels to meet demand.”

Additionally, WebTech Wireless is pleased to announce that is has recently received product certification from Anatel (Agência Nacional de Telecomunicações), Brazil’s federal telecommunications agency, authorizing the sale of the new WT7000 Series Locators™ in Brazil. The WT7000 Series incorporates a number of new features including embedded Bluetooth® for dial-up networking and hands-free voice communications, and a 3-Axis Accelerometer for driver behaviour modeling. This is the first time a Bluetooth®-enabled, vehicle GPS device has been certified by Anatel. Brazilian legislation requires that all telecommunications products sold in the country pass through a rigorous homologation and certification process, which the WT7000 has now completed.

Neil Chan, WebTech Wireless’ Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing, said “Since its recent launch, the WT7000 has garnered considerable interest from current and prospective customers in North America and Europe, and now with Anatel’s certification, we look forward to selling the WT7000 in Brazil in the near future, to service what we believe is a healthy market for its advanced features.”

These events underscore WebTech Wireless’ commitment to emerging markets, and to meeting the needs of industries worldwide that depend on efficient mobile resource management of equipment and people.
