Recombinant C-Reactive Protein
St. Louis, MO. Lee Biosolutions has announced that it will increase its C-Reactive Protein product line to include recombinant C-Reactive Protein.
C-Reactive Protein is a protein found in the blood that operates as a marker for inflammation, meaning its presence indicates an increased state of inflammation in the body. Inflammation is a normal response to a number of physical states including injury, fever and infection. Inflammation is also believed to play a role in the initiation and progression of cardiovascular disease.
r-hCRP is produced into culture medium by DNA recombinant procedure in E. Coli as secretory protein. By expressing kil gene, the outer membrane of E. Coli becomes permeable, allowing recombinant C-Reactive Protein to be excreted without cell lysis. r-hCRP has similar biological property in terms of Ca2+-binding ability to the native protein, and is purified by affinity chromatography. N-terminal amino acid sequence of r-hCRP is the same as that of the native human c-reactive protein
According to Lee Biosolutions President Burton Lee, the company pays close attention to the clinical research community to stay ahead of their demands for acute phase proteins like C-Reactive Protein CRP . Lee Biosolution now has canine, rat, human and recombinant c-reactive protein.
