2009 Cannes Film Festival Air France at the Movies

Like last year, Air France is spotlighting the Cannes Film Festival in its in-flight entertainment programme. During May, a selection of past winners from the Festival will be available to watch on board in the “Movies” section.

* “Entre les murs”, by Laurent Cantet, Palme d’Or in 2008 (France),
* “La Dolce Vita”, by Federico Fellini, Palme d’Or in 1960 (Italy),
* “The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada”, with Tommy Lee Jones who received the Best Actor award in 2005,
* “Babel”, Best Director award in 2006,
* “Le scaphandre et le papillon”, Best Director award in 2007



With these 85 films, some of which are translated in up to 9 languages*, Air France has the largest cinema in Europe (in terms of the number of films). Available on nearly all long-haul flights, this entertainment programme also includes about fifteen films in their original version** to better represent our passengers’ tastes and cultures, more than half of whom are non-French.

Air France is also the first European airline to offer individual video to all passengers an all cabin classes, with 33,000 screens.

Every month, close to 500 hours of programmes are available in each cabin: films, TV series, French and international news, games, language learning courses and a juke-box of 200 CDs.
