Nortel Recognized in Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Telecoms Awards

KUALA LUMPUR -Nortel* [TSX: NT | OTC: NRTLQ] has once again gained recognition as Enterprise Telephony Vendor of the Year in the 2009 Frost & Sullivan Malaysia Telecoms Awards, based on the company’s ongoing strong market performance and innovation.
This is the third year in a row that Nortel has received this award. The 2009 honor was recently awarded during a ceremony at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur Hotel before a broad audience of leading telecom providers.

The annual awards recognize vendors that deliver exceptional performance in Malaysia’s telecoms market in a given year. The award not only acknowledges companies which generate the most revenues and market share during the year, but also those which deliver an outstanding overall contribution to the telephony industry. Companies were short-listed by Frost & Sullivan analysts based on their market knowledge and analysis, with an independent panel of industry judges ultimately choosing the winner.

“Nortel has a longstanding commitment to helping Malaysian businesses and consumers reap the benefits of Hyperconnectivity, the new era of communications in which everything that can be connected to a network, is connected,” said Bernard Chiang, general manager, Enterprise, Nortel ASEAN South. “We are honored our efforts have been recognized by Frost & Sullivan and the independent panel of judges, reflecting not only the strength of our products and services, but the innovative solutions our customers are developing. We look forward to continuing to share in their successes, working together to boost productivity and deliver solutions that help them make the most of the hyperconnected world.”
