CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa - Rockwell Collins has been awarded a contract for the Technology Development Phase of the U.S. Army Ground Soldier Ensemble (GSE) program. The base contract for Rockwell Collins is valued at $12.1 million.

Upon completion of the Technology Development Phase, which includes creation and refinement of a GSE prototype, the Army will conduct development and limited user testing. After appropriate approvals have been obtained, the Army intends to award a competitive contract for GSE production.

GSE focuses on providing mature technologies, that when integrated together on the soldier, minimize size, weight and power while providing improved situational awareness and network connectivity capabilities for the soldier.
