Information About the Impact of Swine Flu on Starbucks

WEBWIRE

As a global company operating in 50 countries, Starbucks has been closely monitoring the Swine Flu activity over the past several days.

As of April 27, 10 stores in Mexico City (mostly near large population centers such as shopping malls and universities) have been closed pursuant to instructions from the Mexican government. Additionally, all businesses are on restricted hours of operation. We have seen no other impact outside of Mexico.

We are proactively communicating with all our partners (employees) globally to reinforce personal hygiene guidelines and store sanitation procedures. To ensure that Starbucks food supply stays safe, we are working closely with our suppliers of pork products to continue monitoring product safety and quality standards.
