Conclave Journal Announces 2009 Character Prizes
Literary magazine seeks character-focused writing and photography
Conclave: A Journal of Character is proud to announce their first annual Conclave Character Prizes in Fiction, Poetry, and Photography.
Entries for the 2009 Conclave Character Prizes, as well as general submissions for the annual print magazine, will be accepted April 1 through July 1. Winners will receive $100 and will be published in Issue 2 of Conclave: A Journal of Character. All submissions will be considered for publication. The contests’ $15 entry fee includes a copy of the prize issue, Issue 2 of Conclave: A Journal of Character.
“With the three Character Prizes,” said Valya Dudycz Lupescu, founding editor, “we seek to recognize works of literary and photographic excellence that introduce readers to well-crafted, compelling characters.”
The inaugural issue of Conclave: A Journal of Character featured writers and photographers from all over the world. The literary magazine was launched in Chicago in October 2008 and is currently available on Amazon.com, as well as in select independent bookstores. Selected pieces from last year’s issue are available on the magazine’s website, www.conclavejournal.com.
Conclave: A Journal of Character publishes fiction, flash fiction, poetry, prose poems, creative nonfiction, dramatic excerpts, photography, and works combining image and text. Writers and photographers can find more information and submit online at: www.conclavejournal.com
