Parata® Max™ and Parata® Mini™ Innovate Performance, Ease-of-Use and Now Reliability for Pharmacy Automation

DURHAM, N.C. - As innovator of the first and only next-generation pharmacy automation, Parata® Max™, Parata continues to put pharmacy out in front, today announcing it will use technology from Axeda Corporation to deliver advanced service capabilities to its customers.

“Axeda® ServiceLink will monitor up to 300 parameters on Parata Max and 100 on Parata Mini in real time, according to Andy Snow, vice president of Product Services. “When analyzed against Parata’s knowledgebase and reliability lab testing results, this information will let Parata quickly and consistently translate performance data and trends into actionable service information.

The information will drive continuous improvement in manufacturing and engineering, and ultimately evolve the company’s service model from a reactive paradigm to a proactive and predictive one,” Snow explains. Components to be monitored initially by Parata include compressor temperature, motor current, robot position, machine start-up and shut-down frequency, cycle times, counting rates, and counting history by drug and cell.

Axeda is the leading on-demand, remote service software company. The Axeda ServiceLink platform allows service personnel to safely and securely connect to automation devices without compromising pharmacies’ IT policies or infringing upon such regulations as HIPAA.

“Parata’s next-generation solutions make pharmacy automation easier than ever for pharmacies to learn, use and maintain. As part of that commitment, we took a similarly innovative approach to reliability,” Tom Rhoads, executive vice president of customer and market strategies, says. “Axeda is an industry leader in its own right, pioneering remote service technology in airport security, ATMs and medical technology, among other segments.”

“Remote service technology allows companies like Parata to have greater intimacy with their customers and products,” said Dale Calder, president and CEO, Axeda. “With this direct connection, Parata’s customers will benefit from product design enhancements and continuously improved service and product reliability.”
