Step Up to the Virtual Tee For Children’s Charities
Zurich/New Orleans/Los Angeles – Before you hit the links this weekend, warm up your swing by teeing off online to help children across the globe and in your own backyard.
For the past five years the Zurich Classic Golf Tournament has been raising money for children’s charities, USD 18 million to date. This year, Zurich Financial Services Group (Zurich) is looking to make a few additional long drives for children with HelpPoint For Kids.
“At Zurich we have always been proud of the work we do with the Zurich Classic,” explains Zurich’s Chief Executive Officer James J. Schiro,“ but this year we had a little more motivation to go the extra mile. With the current state of national finances we saw the opportunity to do a little bit more for organizations who may be in even more need of support than usual.”
That is why Zurich is launching HelpPoint For Kids – a golf relay game that encourages people all over the globe to raise money for children’s charities. To play users start at the HelpPoint For Kids website, create their own golfer, and tee off a message to up to five of their friends. In turn these friends can tee off a message to their own “golfing buddies”. Every time players have teed off a round of 18, two children’s charities - Fore!Kids and Practical Action - will receive donations from Zurich.
“HelpPoint For Kids is just another way Zurich HelpPoint is demonstrating its brand promise by delivering when it matters most. HelpPoint For Kids’ online golfers have the chance to see and feel this promise in action,” continues Schiro.
Zurich’s first foray into online social media, HelpPoint For Kids is a new way for Zurich to leverage its global connections and strong brand presence in supporting two of its favorite charities.
Zurich is looking forward to seeing press members step up to the virtual tee to help them help children.
