EMSL Analytical Acquires BioHygiene Laboratories, Inc.

California microbiology laboratory joins the EMSL and LA Testing network.

EMSL Analytical, the leader in providing cutting edge laboratory services and products, is pleased to announce the acquisition of BioHygiene Laboratories of Torrance, California. The addition of the new laboratory continues EMSL’s calculated growth strategy and adds to the existing network of over 30 EMSL and LA Testing locations across the country.

The laboratory will operate under the LA Testing brand and join the two other LA Testing Laboratories in Los Alamitos and Pasadena to service the Southern California market for EMSL Analytical. The facility is AIHA EMLAP accredited which demonstrates compliance with ISO 17025 quality guidelines.

BioHygiene Laboratories offers comprehensive microbial analytical testing and specializes in the analysis of air, water and environmental samples for the detection of bacteria and fungal contaminants. The staff is highly trained and experienced in the direct microscopic examination of spore trap samples in order to determine airborne fungal spore and pollen counts.

Direct access to laboratory services, products and an expert staff of scientists is what environmental professionals have come to expect from EMSL and LA Testing and this will continue to be the case with the new Torrance facility. The company’s hallmark for success has always been to bring that dedicated local expertise directly to its customers. The acquisition of BioHygiene Laboratories continues this pattern.

The acquisition became official on April 20th and the laboratory is located at 2200 Amapola Court, Suite 102 in Torrance, California. The laboratory can be reached (310) 618-0400.
