Search engine listings for European websites are set to improve as the IOZOO web directory rebuilds itself.

Naxos, Greece – April 21st 2009: The number of businesses experiencing European search engine traffic are expected to rise as former web directory giant IOZOO is relaunching this season. The website, which has listings in all 20 of the European Union’s languages, focuses on countries within Europe so that results are more targeted.

When it first began IOZOO’s expansion was rapid and impressive. Just one year after launch it had 25000 sites that had been submitted and reviewed. However, those listings gradually ceased and at this moment the number of sites listed stands at 6000. With the help of their editorial team, IOZOO aims to rebuild the resource back to its former status.

While offering listings in 20 different languages, the site still manages to link different cultures together.

“In general, search engines give information from the World Wide Web and Web Directories give information to visitors from their local area” says IOZOO director Stelios Vathrakokilis, “what IOZOO aims to do is bridge a gap between those two possibilities, giving customers regional European results that they can compare with local ones”.

IOZOO was established in June 2005 when its founders, two Danish web designers and webmasters noticed a gap in the market. They saw how many countries in Europe are utilizing the World Wide Web, yet still cannot interact with each other. They then launched IOZOO and allowed their users to links to their website and information about it in English, as well as the local tongue. As a result, visitors could find other European websites, not only those related to their own country, but from other countries too, where information may be different and more relevant.

Founders of the four year old web directory ’IOZOO’ are aiming to relaunch the website this year, with the help of its editorial team. Webmasters who own European websites are welcome to have their website listed (whether it’s commercial, non-commercial or personal) and gain more exposure than ever before, using the multi-lingual web directory.
