Weber Shandwick Malaysia Appoints Rozani Jainudeen General Manager

WEBWIRE

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading global public relations firms and among Malaysia’s largest, has appointed Rozani Jainudeen as its general manager effective 6 April 2009.

Rozani has over 15 years of extensive experience in media and public relations in both agency and corporate environments. Her experience spans most sectors including corporate, finance and consumer PR. Until recently, she specialized in M&A assignments.

Rozani started her career as a business journalist at one of Malaysia’s leading English newspapers before moving into public relations. Over the years, she has managed several regional accounts for multinational clients involved in a diverse range of businesses such as Ford Motor Company, Nestle, Intel and Japan Airlines.

Prior to joining Weber Shandwick, Rozani worked at Sime Darby Berhad, one of Southeast Asia’s largest multinational corporations, and was involved in the Synergy Drive merger – Asia’s largest – that combined three plantation giants into what is today the Sime Darby Group.

“Rozani’s experience and insights, developed over years of agency and in-house experience, are a powerful addition to the company. She brings with her a broad range of skills that will enhance the value of the services offered to our range of specialized clients,” said Baxter Jolly, managing director, Southeast Asia.

Commenting on her appointment, Rozani said, “Malaysia’s public relations industry is undergoing a fundamental shift right now. The current financial dislocation across markets has provoked organizations to search for new and more sophisticated means to generate advocacy creation and the public relations sector is at the heart of it. While the economic climate remains a challenge, I believe it also presents us with a significant opportunity. I’m delighted to be working with such an innovative and highly respected team at Weber Shandwick to make the most of these opportunities.”
