This award continues the momentum by VMware in the channel, having already been recognized by the following awards in 2009:

* CRN 2009 Channel Champions – VMware was named winner in the new overall category of Server/Application Virtualization as well as three subcategories of Support Criteria, Financial Criteria and Technical Criteria. This is the largest and broadest-based technology integrator market study in the industry, rating more than 100 vendors in 24 key product and service categories.
* Everything Channel’s 2009 CRN Channel Chiefs – Steve Houck, vice president of worldwide channels for VMware was named winner for leadership of the VMware channel program.

“We are excited to be recognized by our resellers who are finding our products and programs important to their business success. "We congratulate VMware on its commitment to offering partners a quality program that encourages profitable growth in today’s environment,” said Robert C. DeMarzo, senior vice president and editorial director, Everything Channel. “Partners rely on quality programs such as these in order to drive business and revenue in the channel.”

The 2009 Everything Channel Five-Star Partner Program Guide was researched by Everything Channel’s Institute for Partner Education & Development (IPED). The organization analyzed 130 vendor programs and responses were evaluated in the six elements of sales support, marketing support, partner profitability, channel operations, communications and partner recruitment and were categorized by size. The companies with the highest overall weighted scores received the Everything Channel Five-Star Program designation.

The VMware Partner Network also includes access to VMware Partner University, a recently launched next-generation training program that brings together all VMware educational resources under one training framework on a virtual campus. The program makes it easy for partners to develop virtualization expertise that helps accelerate revenue and profitability.
