PLEASANTON, Calif.- Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) today unveiled the Xerox Card Scanner 200 for professionals who need to convert business cards into digital contact information fast. It includes a mobile, USB-powered color scanner as well as professional software that accurately scans and recognizes business cards in seconds.

The card scanner’s USB bus-powered design enables power and PC connection to be delivered by a single cable. The scanner is no bigger than a whiteboard eraser, so its small, lightweight design is right-sized for a brief case or desktop. The Card Scanner 200 also scans personal and business checks, receipts, and color photos up to 4“ x 6”.

From Paper to Productivity in Seconds
The Xerox Card Scanner 200 not only recognizes the text on business cards but also intelligently maps each piece of information into the correct category, differentiating zip codes from phone numbers and e-mail addresses from mailing addresses. It easily syncs to widely used contact manager software such as Microsoft Outlook®, and Outlook Express, as well as Blackberry, Palm™ and Windows Mobile devices. Data can also be exported to other applications such as Excel®, ACT! and GoldMine. Captured information can be used to create mailing labels, name badges and stickers from contacts.

The Xerox Card Scanner 200 includes patented Paper Driven and AutoLaunch technologies from Visioneer, Inc. so scanning begins as soon as cards are inserted. Bundled software includes NewSoft Presto! BizCard, Nuance PaperPort, ArcSoft PhotoImpression; Visioneer OneTouch® with Kofax® VRS™ technology and both TWAIN and WIA device drivers to transform stacks of paper or photos into organized digital files to find, use, and share.
