It’s Never Too Late - Training At Any Age with the Calasanz System

WEBWIRE

A gentleman in his late 40’ walked into my martial arts school inquiring about lessons for his son. After we worked out a program for his kid, I asked him, “Well, what about you? Have you ever thought about martial arts for yourself?” He smiled and said, “nah, it’s too late for me at this point in my life. I couldn’t keep up with a class.” He said that while he was looking around for schools for his son, they watched a few classes at other schools and the class seemed too high intensity for someone who was out of shape.

It was a Saturday morning and the school was full of people training. I asked the man to look around and tell me what he saw. Much too his surprise, many of my students, men and women, were his age or older. Most of my student body is in the age range of 35 to 70. Then I told him about the Calasanz System.

I started catering to an adult clientele long before it became fashionable. I noticed that many adults were disgusted with the atmosphere at their local gyms, but wanted to do something that would help them get into shape. I knew that martial art training was the best way to get fit. I did however adjust the traditional curriculum to accommodate today’s adult student. The system of martial arts training I created is suited for adults who want to improve their health and fitness levels.

I start all students off with Calasanz Physical Arts. This is a self-paced conditioning program designed to get you moving again. The exercises have been time-tested and are for the sole purpose of developing a good foundation to train the body and increase self-confidence. If I threw you into a high intensity class on your first day, I would never see you again. Instead, I ease you in and before you know it, you’re feeling and looking better.

Calasanz Physical Arts combines aerobic, flexibility and strength training exercises as well as martial arts basics. My system is great for burning body fat, which is important to address as we grow older and our metabolism slows down. Balance is also improved as many movements involve kicking and shifting the body weight from one leg to another. How often do we hear of seniors breaking hips because they lost their balance and took a nasty fall? In addition to being a great stress reliever, martial arts is also great to learn for self-defense purposes. So you really get a two-for-one, fitness and self-defense!

So consider martial arts training for yourself. You’re never too old to try something new and with the Calasanz System, you’ll be surprised at the results. Check out our website at www.calasanz.com or call us at (203)847-6528.
