NEW YORK – Ogilvy North America is named Top Agency in the large agency category in BtoB Magazine’s Top Agencies Special Report, released today.

Ogilvy’s growth in the first three quarters of 2008, spurred by new business wins and new client offerings, helped launch the agency to top position. In 2008, Ogilvy North America landed the business accounts for British Airways, Clear Card, MetLife, Motorola, Siemens and Thomson Reuters. Its creative work was awarded 26 Cannes Lion awards, 24 Clios and eight Caples. The agency launched innovative new practices and client services: Digital Innovations Labs, Ogilvy on Recession, and the Greenery.

The new Greenery practice has been instrumental in helping clients such as DuPont, IBM and Motorola craft their green marketing initiatives.

“So many of our clients are ready for green,” said Carla Hendra, CEO of Ogilvy North America. “So we designed a total offering around helping clients associate their brand with the mission of being better at environmental management and policy, as well as promoting green products.”

A partnership between Ogilvy, DuPont and Discovery Channel resulted in the town of Greensburg, Kansas, being rebuilt as a green community after it was devastated by a tornado in 2007. The whole rebuilding was documented in “Greensburg,” which aired on Discovery’s Planet Green cable network.

Other notable campaigns include: Cisco’s Welcome to the Human Network; Lenovo’s Voices of the Olympic Games; and IBM’s The Business of Innovation mini-documentary series and Mr. Fong Lost in Space social media campaign.
