Existing and New Clients can Benefit from the Collaboration Aimed at Helping Them Transform Their Businesses to Survive and Thrive in Today’s Challenging Times

WALLDORF, Germany and PARIS - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) and Atos Origin today announced the extension of their global services partnership. In addition, they are cooperating further via new go-to-market agreements through their local subsidiaries to help customers reduce the total cost of ownership of deployments of SAP® solutions by improving application reliability and performance. Such cooperation takes effect immediately across key geographies in Europe, including France, Spain, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Germany.

“Atos Origin has worked together with SAP for many years and is pleased to extend its relationship through this agreement,” said Thierry Breton, chairman and CEO of Atos Origin. “With over 5,000 consultants globally, SAP services are one of the cornerstones of our business. The market already recognizes that Atos Origin is a leading integrator of SAP solutions in the manufacturing sector worldwide.”

Under the terms of the go-to-market agreements, Atos Origin will work together with SAP to proactively help to reduce customer risk and to streamline the upgrade, new deployment and go-live process for SAP customers on new and existing installations and upgrades to SAP business solutions. The companies will initially cooperate in providing support to customers in the following key areas – manufacturing, installation and upgrades to SAP business solutions, offerings for business users and the SAP® Customer Relationship Management application (SAP CRM), all in conjunction with SAP® Business Suite 7 software.

“Atos Origin has a proven track record for delivering projects globally, including some of the largest and most complex ones,” said Léo Apotheker, co-CEO, SAP AG. “Through this expanded relationship, we aim to offer customers an accelerated return on their investment in SAP solutions, lower TCO and ultimately help them to thrive in today’s challenging business climate. Expanding our relationship with Atos Origin underscores our commitment to our ecosystem strategy, with the objective of bringing more value to all of our customers.”

The go-to-market agreements include many facets of joint marketing, including cross training, sales-enablement programs and partnership-performance management. Four initiatives designated for cooperative efforts are as follows:

* Manufacturing – In support of the manufacturing segment, Atos Origin’s successful Maximize Manufacturing Together initiative in support of SAP solutions will be extended to further address the implementation of the “Perfect Plant,” compliance with the European Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) legislation and after-sales service. It will also provide best practice-based solutions, replacing inflexible and expensive legacy systems in manufacturing sectors such as chemicals, consumer products and high technology.
* Installations and Upgrades to SAP Business Solutions – Atos Origin and SAP will cooperate to provide an upgrade service focusing on delivering the real benefits of the “go-to” release, including SAP Business Suite 7, based on joint understanding of the added value provided by the new software aimed at helping customers manage and thrive during the economic downturn.
* Support for Business Users – Atos Origin and SAP will collaborate to offer a wide range of solutions that meet the needs of business users. They will help to provide better insight of current business opportunities, visibility of potential business risk areas and rapid high-quality data to improve business responsiveness to changing market conditions.
* SAP CRM – With the latest release of SAP CRM, SAP is acknowledged as a market leader. Atos Origin has the expertise to deliver the true benefits of SAP CRM to clients, including associated analytics. The experience of Atos Origin in business communications management and the delivery of hosted solutions complement the new software and further increase the return on investment potential.

“Atos Origin continues to be one of the most mature SAP partners in the industry, having worked closely with SAP for many years and across many sectors,” said David Mitchell, senior vice president, IT Research, Ovum. “This announcement further extends that partnership. The companies will work together to deliver benefits to customers in four key business areas to lower costs, accelerate implementations and increase the value that can be realized from investments in SAP solutions.”

The recently unveiled SAP Business Suite 7 software will play a key role in the deployment of the above initiatives. The next-generation software suite helps businesses to optimize their performance and reduce IT cost. It is designed to ease upgrades and help customers reduce IT costs with enhancement packages, gain stronger insights with select analytics capabilities from the SAP® BusinessObjects™ portfolio, and achieve end-to-end process excellence through the modular deployment of industry best practices and service-oriented architecture (SOA).
