Investigation Discovery Greenlights ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN

(Silver Spring, Md.) Investigation Discovery (ID) announced today that journalist Paula Zahn’s development project has received a series greenlight. Under the agreement, Zahn and producing partners Scott Weinberger of Weinberger Media and Scott Sternberg of Scott Sternberg Productions will produce a new weekly investigative series for ID. The network ordered 13 episodes of ON THE CASE WITH PAULA ZAHN, set to debut in October 2009. Paula Zahn, Scott Weinberger and Scott Sternberg will serve as executive producers.

On the Case with Paula Zahn will take viewers on a visually compelling journey inside the most fascinating mysteries and investigations. Personal stories from the people closest to the case, along with analysis from experts will allow viewers to share the experience, through every twist and turn, until the episode reaches its dramatic conclusion. In every episode, Paula Zahn will conduct the pivotal interview with the controversial or key figure in the case.

A 30-year news veteran, journalist Paula Zahn most recently anchored for CNN, where she was based in the network’s New York bureau and hosted the primetime show Paula Zahn Now. Before joining CNN, Zahn was the host of The Edge with Paula Zahn, a daily news program on Fox News Channel. She joined Fox in 1999 as anchor of its evening news, The Fox Report. Previously she spent 10 years at CBS News, where she co-hosted CBS Morning News and anchored the CBS Evening News Saturday Edition. Earlier, Zahn served as co-anchor of World News This Morning and anchored news segments of Good Morning America on ABC.

Throughout her career, Zahn has interviewed dignitaries and newsmakers, including former U.S. Presidents Bill Clinton, George Bush, Jimmy Carter and Gerald Ford, Cuban President Fidel Castro, former Russian President Mikhail Gorbachev, first lady Betty Ford, civil rights leader Stokley Carmichael and human rights activist Winnie Mandela.
