IKON to Present at LegalTech New York

IKON will facilitate two educational sessions during the conference

MALVERN, Pa. – IKON Office Solutions, Inc., a Ricoh company, today announced that it is facilitating two educational sessions during the LegalTech New York Trade Show. The first session, From Traditionalist to Gen Y: Addressing Generation Gaps in Today’s Law Firms, will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009 in Concourse B of the Hilton New York Hotel. It will be followed by the second session, Digital Writing: Submit Your Changes as You Write Them, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

“The first session will focus on the reality that all law firms are faced with – that there are real differences in how the various generations perceive the world, the expectations they have around technology and mobility, and how they relate to each other and members of different generations,” explains Mark Davey, Vice President, IKON Legal Enterprise Solutions. “With most law firms being run by baby boomers, we need to consider that most new attorneys and staff are members of Generations X and Y.”

IKON’s second session will focus on the emerging technology of digital writing. “Digital writing allows a user to write in the margin of a document with a pen that captures and immediately transmits notes wirelessly, in place on the original, just as they were written. The document can then be routed automatically to a document management system or an individual regardless of their location,” says Davey. “Digital writing solutions can speed up collaboration and improve information security while allowing others to continue using the editing tools to which they are accustomed.”
