Helps Telecom Equipment Manufacturers Accelerate Time-to-Revenue, Lower Development Costs, and Manage Product Lifecycle

TEMPE, Ariz – February 7, 2006 — Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today launched a suite of professional services to assist telecom equipment manufacturers in unleashing the potential of open communications servers based on standards such as AdvancedTCA® and MicroTCATM. Communications servers are being adopted rapidly to help reduce the cost and improve the interoperability of converged networks.

Motorola’s Solution Services for ATCA and MicroTCA platforms include architecture, design, engineering, integration, test and lifecycle management services. Unlike traditional services offerings, Solution Services spans the complete product life cycle to help customers conceptualize, design and support platforms and content. Moreover, specific services can be used to supplement engineering teams or provide access to critical skill sets.

“Communications servers, coupled with Motorola’s new systems-oriented solution services, help deliver seamless mobility by enabling our OEM customers to quickly create and implement application-ready common platforms,” said Jorge Magalhaes, solution services director, Embedded Communications Computing, Motorola. “For example, with our collaborative engineering approach, customers work side-by-side with Motorola engineers with extensive experience in communications computing technology and regulatory requirements to accelerate development, integration and testing of the customer’s communications server. This allows them to get products to market faster and focus on what they do best – adding value to their applications.

“In addition to professional offerings, Motorola provides product services such as longevity of repair and supply chain services that afford customers greater control of their product life cycle, resulting in more efficient asset management,” said Magalhaes. “These services can maximize a customer’s investment beyond the traditional five years to provide 10 years or more product life cycle.”
