Health-on-line Not Feeling The Credit Crunch

Bournemouth based Private Medical Insurance (PMI) company Health-on-Line has reported a large increase in sales and enquiries over the last 3 months. Managing Director, Mark Martin, says “We are over 50% up on last year, it’s incredible!”

In a time when the economy is headline news, Martin explains why he thinks Health-on-Line continues to deliver such results. “In the past people have preferred to stay with their existing insurer because their brands are better known than ours. Now, people are looking for better value and understandably don’t trust the big brands as much as they used to. Our aim is to offer people more cover for less money which we can usually do, so more people are choosing us due to our excellent value.”

Mark Martin explains how they are able to do this considering most of the competition has been trading long before Health-on-Line was founded in 2000. “It’s all about technology” he said. “We have invested millions of pounds in developing state of the art software which has led to huge savings in administration costs. We pass these savings on to the client by charging lower premiums.

“A lot of our competition simply haven’t developed their technology well enough so they have to charge much higher premiums to cover costs.”

When considering what this means for the future of Health-on-Line and the insurance sector Mark Martin said “People deserve, demand and expect the highest levels of customer service. If they don’t get it they will vote with their feet in increasing numbers, particularly the younger ones.”

“We are surrounded more and more by technology – be it in the home, at work or even in the car. At Health-on-Line we believe we are servants to our clients and aim to give then the best possible value backed up with the best possible service. We will always do this no matter how much we grow. At the moment we are heavily recruiting for the future demand not recruiting to catch up, which is what a lot of companies do”.
