Tri-Ad Litho Adds Xerox iGen3 Press to Expand Short-Run Color, Personalized Printing

PITTSBURGH and ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 07, 2006 -- Tri-Ad Litho Inc., a full-service commercial printer, has installed a Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) iGen3™ 110 Digital Production Press to expand its short-run color and personalized printing capabilities for customers ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.
The company is using high-speed color and black-and-white digital technology to complement its traditional offset printing services and offer a more complete range of services to its customers. The iGen3 press is now part of Tri-Ad Litho’s mix of Xerox black-and-white and color digital systems, including the Xerox Nuvera™ 120 Digital Copier/Printer, DocuTech™ 6135 Production Publisher and DocuColo™ 6060 Digital Press.

The company is printing nearly 500,000 pages per month on the Xerox iGen3 press, and that number is expected to grow as customers take advantage of short-run jobs such as digital book publishing and personalized direct-marketing pieces. According to Novosel, nearly 60 percent of Tri-Ad Litho’s jobs come from other printing companies. The addition of the iGen3 press will help the company handle overflow jobs from these existing customers while securing new customers in new markets.
Tri-Ad Litho chose the Xerox iGen3 for its image quality, speed, and ability to print on a variety of sheet sizes and weights.
Among the new applications the company is printing on the Xerox iGen3:
* Point-of-purchase signs for clients in the restaurant industry. A national soup company enhanced its presence at restaurant locations by using static-cling promotional pieces to attract customer attention and increase sales.
* Customized direct-mail pieces for real estate agents. The full-color, oversized postcards are customized to include living room and dining room photos of houses on the market. Using the iGen3 press, the real estate agents offer a high-quality postcard to solicit bids for high-priced homes.
Tri-Ad Litho uses the Xerox FreeFlow™ DocuSP™ print controller as a common interface for the iGen3 press as well as the Xerox Nuvera 120 and DocuTech 6135. This allows the company to have a streamlined digital workflow that increases productivity by reducing training costs and providing flexibility to route jobs to a variety of printers based on requirements and deadlines.
