Mimi Rothschild and Learning By Grace Announce New Tools for Homeschooling Parents

WEBWIRE

Philadelphia, PA-- Mimi Rothschild and Learning By Grace have announced the planned launch of Version 11 of their online Learning Management System. Among other things, the additional tools will allow homeschooling parents and educators to monitor their children’s performance in real time. Parents receive automatic messaging when assignments have been graded as well as regular progress reports. The pre-set lesson plans can be modified and answer keys have been upgraded.

“We’ve taken the drudgery out of homeschooling and made the process even more rewarding than ever,” said Mimi Rothschild, a veteran home school mother of over twenty years and co-founder of Learning By Grace, a leading provider of online homeschooling academies.

“The new version will allow parents to be more involved in the development of their students yet reduce the workload because of our appropriation of new Internet technology,” Mimi Rothschild added.

Mimi Rothschild also noted that the new version of the Learning Management System is the result of eight years of experience in providing a Christian education for students.

It is also the only Learning Management System created specifically with K-12 students in mind. This is significant because some educators attempt to educate K-12 students using “off the shelf” solutions made for corporate training or for teaching college level students. The reality is that younger students learn in very different ways than young adults; the new features will provide age-appropriate tools for those enrolled.

The improvements were made to create a better home schooling experience with increased documentation and accountability for both parents and students.

Rothschild also points out that the new system will create extra credibility in the reporting process for homeschooling parents which vary from state to state. She stated local education administrators will appreciate the added credibility of the objective samples that can be printed out for required portfolios or work samples.

“This is great for parents who need to provide documentation to local school boards and other authorities,” noted Mimi Rothschild.

“There are a lot of functions that will be beneficial for all involved. It will also reduce a lot of parent anxiety because a third party is assisting them in reporting and recordkeeping.”

The new version will also provide more interactive tools and a community view even allows parents or educators to suggest updates and improvements on assignments. Anytime their suggestions are incorporated into a new lesson, they will be added to the list of contributors.
