UEI to provide custom line of controls for Mitsubishi Diamond Series Televisions

CYPRESS — Feb. 6, 2006 — Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) (NASDAQ:UEIC) announced that Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America (MDEA) has selected UEI to supply universal remote control devices for MDEA television products. The supply relationship spans a comprehensive range of Mitsubishi remotes, including those that will be bundled with the company’s high definition Diamond Series televisions.

Mitsubishi is recognized as one of the world leaders in manufacturing premium quality high definition projection televisions and high definition Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) flat panel televisions, as well as related products for complete home theater systems. The company was first to introduce big screen and plasma televisions to North America, and also first to introduce televisions featuring high definition 1080p DLPTM technology, which is now regarded as the highest display resolution for large screen televisions.
