TheWB.com and MySpace, the world’s premiere social portal, are teaming up on a content partnership which will bring the new original digital series “Rockville CA” from TheWB.com to MySpace Video. The scripted program, set at a fictional Los Angeles rock club and featuring live performances by 20 acclaimed indie music artists, was created by Josh Schwartz (Gossip Girl, Chuck, The O.C.), who serves as executive producer alongside noted music supervisor Alexandra Patsavas (Twilight, Gossip Girl, Grey’s Anatomy, The O.C.).

Doors to the “Rockville CA” club open Tuesday, March 17 with the show premiering on TheWB.com and MySpace Video at www.myspace.com/rockvilleca. Original episodes of “Rockville CA” will debut simultaneously on TheWB.com and MySpace in an exclusive, 24-hour shared window, and then will become available through TheWB.com’s other select broadband distribution partners. At launch today, the first four episodes of “Rockville CA” will be available to view. Two additional original episodes will be posted on each Tuesday thereafter, continuing through to May 12.

Along with offering the complete episodes (each running between four and six minutes), the “Rockville CA” MySpace page will boast loads of additional content, including behind-the-scenes photos from the set, links to the MySpace profile pages for the featured musical performers, and a “Rockville CA” widget that can be downloaded and shared. The page will also offer a complete live musical performance by each of the 20 artists appearing in the show, as well as green room interviews. And that’s not all: The page will also showcase links to a “Rockville CA” set tour given by series star Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars), production diaries and character pieces, all hosted at TheWB.com.

“MySpace is a perfect partner for us on ’Rockville CA,’ with highly engaged users that love music and are fans of Josh Schwartz shows like ’Gossip Girl,’ ’Chuck’ and ’The O.C.,’” said Craig Erwich, Executive Vice President, Warner Horizon Television, who also oversees TheWB.com for the Studio.

“Rockville CA” stars Andrew J. West (Privileged, Greek), Alexandra Chando (As the World Turns), Jelly Howie (Dexter, CSI: Miami), Ryan Hansen (Veronica Mars, Las Vegas, upcoming untitled Gossip Girl spinoff), Matt Cohen (South of Nowhere, Supernatural), Bonnie Burroughs (Cold Case, Eli Stone), Lester Speight (Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay) and Chris Yen (A Good Day to Be Black & Sexy).

Indie favorite and up-and-coming musical acts appearing in “Rockville CA” include Kaiser Chiefs, Travis, Phantom Planet, The Duke Spirit, Eagles of Death Metal, Earlimart, Frightened Rabbit, The Kooks, The Little Ones, Lykke Li, Nico Stai, Passion Pit, White Lies, Anya Marina, Bishop Allen, The Broken West, Cass McCombs, Lights, Oppenheimer and The Republic Tigers.

“Rockville CA” was shot on location at The Echo, a popular indie music venue in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. The series takes viewers into the lives of a group of twentysomethings who gather regularly at the club to hear their favorite up-and-coming bands, blow off steam, fall in love with the wrong people, and then talk about how they’ve fallen in love with the wrong people.
