Gatehouse Academy Selects Kent Sherman to be New Managing Partner

Wickenburg, AZ - Gatehouse Academy, a leader in long-term residential drug and alcohol treatment programs, announces long-time CEO and Vice President of Marketing, Kent Sherman as the company’s new Managing Partner.

Sherman became Gatehouse Academy’s Vice President of Marketing in 2000 and shortly thereafter he was promoted to CEO. For over eight years, he was a generative force in growing Gatehouse Academy from a program with a 10 bed maximum occupancy to a facility that serves over 100 residents.

“It was time for me to step up into my role as an owner of Gatehouse Academy,” says Sherman. “Becoming Managing Partner enables me to focus more on growing the company as opposed to completing organizational tasks and protocols. The dream Ted Earl created over 25 years ago is defining the way in which Young Adult Addicts are treated, thus allowing recovery from this fatal illness.”

Growth is an important part of Gatehouse Academy. Just as their residents grow and learn over time, their own program offerings are expanding to meet the needs of today’s youth. In January, Gatehouse Academy opened the “Jefferson House program”, which offers specialized treatment for young adults suffering from a dual diagnosis, mental illness coupled with substance abuse. At the end of last year, a new nature immersion program called “Gatehouse in the Wilderness” was also added to their service line. In his new position, Sherman will have an integral role in the continuation of building programs that exemplify the Gatehouse Academy mission, which reads: “We absolutely insist on guiding young adults towards a life of excellence, leadership and service.”
