March Update of Agility CMS Adds Dashboard, Bookmarking, Amazon S3 Support

WEBWIRE

March 10, 2009 – TORONTO, CANADA – Edentity Web Systems Inc. today announced the release of the March Iteration of the Agility Content Management System. Each month, a new release of Agility is made available to all users of their software-as-a-service CMS. This release focused on new features.

Updates to the popular ASP.NET-based, hosted CMS include a new dashboard that gives users more information about what is happening with their site. Bookmarking has been added to all pages and content which also show up on the dashboard.

Under the covers, the Agility document repository has been enhanced to support file storage on the Amazon S3 cloud storage environment. Documents can be stored within the Agility database, or switched to S3 by setting up an S3 account and pointing the Agility instance to it. The latest update also supports file propagation on content delivery networks (CDNs) like Akamai, Limelight and Amazon CloudFront.

Lastly, developers will rejoice at an update that simplifies linking content together. This Agility Framework update will allow developers to create more sophisticated modules in less time that are easier to work with for end users.

Over 90 minor bug fixes were also made according to the Agility CMS blog.

Michael Assad, CEO of Edentity, The creators of Agility CMS was quoted as saying, “This update continues our tradition of continually improving our CMS with no change in fees. The Amazon S3 storage feature is particularly interesting for our clients in Advertising and Media because it facilitates cost effective integration of Flash and video content.”

Joel Varty, Director of Research and Development for Agility was quoted as saying, “Our unique approach to software development means that our users are in total control over their CMS. We alternate the focus of each release between new features, productivity enhancements and back-end improvements, to ensure that the software improves in a balanced way.”

The latest updates to Agility were made available to all users at 2:00 AM ET this morning.
