Analog Devices and Avnet Extend Distribution Agreement into Japan

WEBWIRE

TOKYO -- Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI), a global leader in high-performance semiconductors for signal processing applications, and Avnet Japan Co., Ltd., a division of Avnet Electronics Marketing, the largest operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), signed a distribution agreement for the Japanese market.

Japan continues to be a design and a manufacturing powerhouse, particularly in consumer electronics. Analog Devices is a leader in signal processing and its analog, mixed-signal, and digital signal processing (DSP) integrated circuits (IC) play a fundamental role in converting, conditioning, and processing real-world phenomena such as light, sound, temperature, motion, and pressure into electrical signals that are used in a wide array of electronic equipment -- much of it made by Japanese OEMs.

“Analog Devices has the products, support, expertise, and global resources customers need for the future. Avnet and ADI have enjoyed a thirty-six year relationship and so I’m extremely pleased that we will be able to offer ADI’s superior product line to our Japanese customers. The extension of our relationship into Japan further underscores our focus and capability to deliver ’Support Across the Board’ as a global value-added distribution leader in the local marketplace,” said Tom McCartney, president of Avnet Electronics Marketing Japan.

McCartney continued, “In support of this new chapter for ADI and Avnet Electronics Marketing Japan, we have added technically-qualified dedicated sales and engineering resources qualified to provide immediate support to our Japanese customers on ADI products. With this, Avnet Electronics Marketing Japan is ready to serve our mutual customers on their current ADI requirements, as well as create new demand for ADI’s products throughout Japan.”

“By extending our relationship with Avnet, we will be able to leverage their engineering and regional logistics capability to uplift customer service to the next level which helps our customers stay ahead of the competition,” said Osamu Mawatari, president & representative director of Analog Devices K.K.(ADKK)
