“For the single biggest television event of the year, we can’t afford to take chances.”
— Gary Reed, chief engineer for NFL Films

CINCINNATI, February 3, 2006 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS) today announces that several of its newest standard- and high-definition (SD/HD) broadcast infrastructure products have been selected by Mt. Laurel, New Jersey-based NFL Films to support the company’s coverage of Super Bowl XL on February 5 in Detroit. NFL Films will utilize Videotek® PTM-305 portable, handheld monitors for camera setup and portable test signal generation. In addition, Leitch X75™ multiple path converter/synchronizers and Videotek® TVM-950HD multi-format test monitors will be used to generate appropriate signals and provide quality control during production and broadcast of more than 20 international feeds that the company will provide during the game.

“Harris products were chosen for this production because we know we can trust them in this high-profile setting,” said Gary Reed, chief engineer for NFL Films. “Not only have we come to expect high-quality precision instruments, but the company’s service and support has always been outstanding as well. For the single biggest television event of the year, we can’t afford to take chances.”

With 100 percent digital signal processing technology, the Videotek® TVM-950HD provides multi-format, accurate, stable display of single or multiple Waveform, Vector, Gamut, Audio, Picture, Timing and Data Analyzer functions in quadrant or full-screen views via an integral XGA monitor. The battery-powered Videotek® PTM-305 is ideal for monitoring field production camera setup or equipment installation, and for troubleshooting signal path issues related to analog and standard-definition digital formats. Its features include a Video Test Signal Generator, Color Monitor, Waveform/Vector Scope and an Audio Analyzer/Monitor.

The Leitch X75™ combines SD to HD upgradeability with up/down/cross conversion, SD/HD frame sync and extensive video and audio processing capabilities all in a space-saving 1RU package, allowing broadcasters to do much more with less equipment.

“We have enjoyed a long relationship with NFL Films, and we’re proud to support a company with such a long history of achievement and high standards of quality,” said Tim Thorsteinson, president of Harris’ Leitch business unit. “NFL Films’ decision to use our award-winning equipment as part of the year’s showcase event is a real testament to the reliability and quality of our products. It’s especially satisfying to witness such customer confidence in products we’ve only recently brought to market, which really underscores the strong reputation our technology enjoys in the marketplace.”
