Qualcomm’s New MCP200 Series Transforms Driver’s Cab into Mobile Operations Center

Extension of In-Cab Product Portfolio Offers Customers Greater Choice

SAN DIEGO - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading provider of business-to-business wireless enterprise applications and services, announced its new Mobile Computing Platform 200 Series (MCP200), which is designed to increase transportation company revenue by enabling drivers to provide better customer service and enhancing in-cab productivity. An addition to the Qualcomm Mobile Computing Platform product line originally launched in September 2006, the MCP200 delivers an expanded set of award-winning OmniVisionSM Transportation Services, adding Wi-Fi , in-cab video training, Internet access and multi-mode capability.

The premium capabilities of the MCP200 Series will enable fleets to effectively transform their cabs into mobile operations centers. Business-critical activities that have previously been confined to a corporate office, field service center or driver kiosk can now be completed conveniently and efficiently inside the cab. For example, drivers can now access critical training, targeted customer information and relevant back-office data, such as payroll information, from the cab. With the enhanced availability of company information and client-specific instructions, drivers can make more productive use of non-driving downtime and be more self-sufficient. With these expanded in-cab capabilities, drivers can better serve their customers with accurate, current instructions, making them a true extension of business operations that will improve customer and driver satisfaction.

“Carriers can take advantage of the MCP200’s power capabilities to grow their revenues and provide a higher level of customer service,” said Norm Ellis, vice president of transportation and logistics sales and service for Qualcomm Enterprise Services. “The MCP200 Series is part of an end-to-end solution that enables transportation companies to migrate functions previously confined to an office to the mobile environment of the cab. Drivers can now access a wide range of information when they need it.”

The MCP200 will be commercially available in summer 2009.
