Plano,Texas .- Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (“Huawei”), a leading company in providing next-generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, today announced that it has deployed a 3G wireless network in Chicago, Ill. for Cricket Communications, Inc. a subsidiary of Leap Wireless International, Inc. (NASDAQ: LEAP), a leading provider of innovative and value-driven wireless communications services. This deployment follows a successful launch in Milwaukee, Wisc. last fall.

The network includes Huawei’s Dual Homing Softswitch, Media Gateway and 3900 Series Base Station subsystems. Huawei’s industry-leading 3900 Series base station has been widely deployed globally since end of 2007. This base station platform supports multiple technologies including LTE, CDMA, GSM/EDGE, UMTS/HSPA, and WiMAX, providing customers with efficient solutions.
