Communications Service Provider, ConvergeOne, Rescues Pannone LLP from Major Network Outage

Communications service provider, ConvergeOne Limited came to the rescue of renowned law firm Pannone LLP following a major outage at the Manchester law firm’s prestigious offices at 123 Deansgate.

The IT Management at Pannone were alerted at 4.30am to the fact they had a failed switch fabric module, which resulted in failure to all switches connected to the Cisco 6513 (Pannone’s core switch). A Cisco expert from ConvergeOne was called in to work on the problems and the network was running again by 9.30am. ConvergeOne configured some spare redundant switches, repatched existing switches to the second core Cisco 6513 restoring all services whilst the spare SFM card was being shipped to Pannone’s offices.

Commenting on the work carried out by ConvergeOne, Pannone’s IT Director David Griffiths stated:

“Having received the alert that we had major issues with our network I put a call into our ConvergeOne client relationship manager at 6.30am detailing the problem we were facing. At 7.15am we had a Cisco expert from ConvergeOne on site working through the problems to ensure downtime was minimal. The engineer managed to get the network up and running again by 9.30am which resulted in very little downtime to staff and clients. The level of response and service received in this instance was first class and as a result we look forward to forming a beneficial working relationship going forward with ConvergeOne”.

Full Network Redesign

ConvergeOne is now undertaking a full network redesign to ensure that there is full resilience in the network and if such an event occurred again redundancy would be evoked dynamically reducing downtime and increasing network availability.
