Qualcomm Announces the Fifth Annual Smart Services Leadership Summit

Industry Leaders Converge to Explore the Future of the Internet of Things

SAN DIEGO - Qualcomm Incorporated (Nasdaq: QCOM), a leading provider of business-to-business wireless enterprise applications and services, today announced its fifth annual Smart Services Leadership Summit to be held July 27-29, 2009 at the Qualcomm main campus and Hilton Torrey Pines Hotel in La Jolla, Calif. This executive-level leadership summit will engage delegates in stimulating dialogue and provide thought provoking opportunities to explore the growth of Smart Services across pervasive markets, including the impact of the new Obama administration’s top initiatives - energy, healthcare and education - as well as consumer electronics and fleet and asset management, among others. Dr. Paul E. Jacobs, chief executive officer of Qualcomm, will open the summit with a discussion highlighting some of the latest wireless industry developments, and particularly an emerging phenomenon known as the “Internet of Things.” This concept refers to the evolving ability to interconnect business assets, electronic devices and even everyday personal objects wirelessly, allowing them to exchange important data and information using cellular communications technology.
