A full auditorium of building professionals listened and learned about mold and moisture.

At the International Builders’ Show (IBS) in Las Vegas, Michael Himelfarb from Global Prevention Services (GPS) presented the latest findings on mold and moisture to building professionals. His presentation to a packed lecture hall was one of most anticipated environmental educational sessions at this year’s event.

The IBS is an annual conference put on by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The 2009 conference was the 65th annual IBS and over 60,000 building professionals attended from across the globe. In addition to the large number of attendees, there were 1,600 exhibits and over 250 educational sessions.

More and more Americans have become aware of the dangers associated with mold contamination in their homes and offices in recent years and builders worldwide have taken notice. Global Prevention Services is now one of the nation’s largest microbial prevention and remediation companies and Mr. Himelfarb is a recognized expert in microbial issues related to commercial and residential properties.

“Developing a healthy and safe environment for building occupants requires systems to prevent microbial growth in buildings,” stated Mr. Himelfarb, President of Global Prevention Services. “Fortunately technologies have advanced by leaps and bounds in recent years to prevent and remediate both mold and bacteria growth in new construction and existing buildings.”

Creating a healthy environment for building occupants in the initial design phase of a building can save countless future effort and financial resources. For existing buildings the payoff in increased productivity, reduced sick time, and increased property values make protecting a building from microbial contaminants the right thing to do.

As a national leader in mold remediation services, GPS recommends builders educate themselves about mold remediation and prevention techniques to ensure healthy environments and prevent future costly remediation and potential litigation.
