WALLDORF, Germany .- For the fifth year in a row SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) has been named to the Global 100 list of the most sustainable corporations in the world. Corporate Knights Inc. and international finance and investment advisory firm Innovest Strategic Value Advisors released the annual list on Jan. 28, 2009, at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Companies included in the Global 100 are selected based on an analysis of 1800 publicly traded companies. The Global 100 selection board evaluates companies on 80 sustainability indicators relating to how well they manage environmental, social and governance responsibilities. The list comprises the 100 companies with the highest scores in Innovest’s proprietary Intangible Value Assessment.

In addition to its inclusion in the Global 100 list, SAP has previously been recognized for its sustainable business practices by the FTSE4Good index and the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, where it leads the software sector (see related Sept. 9, 2008, announcement, “SAP Continues to Lead Software Sector in Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes”). SAP has also been named to the Global Challenges Index, which recognizes transparency and anti-corruption efforts (see related Sept. 16, 2008, announcement, “SAP Maintains Position in Global Challenges Index”).
