New Iomega Network Attached Storage Option Provides Affordable Storage Growth Path For Small and Medium-Sized Business Users

SAN DIEGO, January 30, 2006- Iomega Corporation (NYSE: IOM), a global leader in data storage celebrating 25 years of business, today announced the innovative and economical Iomega® StorCenter™ Pro NAS 400e Expansion Chassis for the Iomega® StorCenter™ Pro NAS 400r Server.

The 400e Expansion Chassis offers small and medium-sized business users a uniquely simple solution to a recurring problem: how to manage a company’s growing network storage requirements affordably. The 400e Expansion Chassis does the job by allowing users to add up to three 400e Expansion Chassis units to a single 400r series server. Each 400e Expansion Chassis adds 1TB of storage space to the host NAS device-in effect, doubling, tripling, or quadrupling its capacity.

As a result, Iomega’s StorCenter™ Pro NAS 400r Series server is a suitable foundation for a flexible growth plan. Companies can select the appropriate StorCenter Pro NAS 400r Series server for their current needs (native capacity ranges from 640GB to 1.6TB), and as their storage needs grow they can add additional 1TB via a 400e Expansion Chassis unit as needed (1TB at a time). Users can add up to 3.0TB’s to the original NAS 400r Series server, all managed under the 400r Series server’s Windows® Storage Server 2003 operating system license.

“The 400e Expansion Chassis is a simple, scalable solution to the explosive growth in network data,” said Lee Williams, Vice President, Product Generation for HDD Solutions, Iomega Corporation. “In conjunction with Iomega’s StorCenter Pro NAS 400r Series server, it gives corporate buyers decisive advantages where they are most appreciated: low initial costs, high reliability and performance, easy manageability with Windows Storage Server 2003, and simple expansion as a company’s data capacity needs increase.”

Hardware Details, 400e Expansion Chassis
The StorCenter Pro NAS 400e Expansion Chassis connects via an Ultra 320 SCSI port to the Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 400r Series server. Users can daisy-chain up to three 400e Expansion Chassis units (1TB per 400e Expansion Chassis) to a single NAS 400r unit; the resulting configuration is a maximum total of 12 additional hot-swappable SATA hard drives that can be connected to a single Iomega NAS 400r unit. All of the hard drives can be configured as RAID 0 (striping), 1 (mirroring), or 5 (parity); using the Expansion Chassis, RAID 5 volumes can now include more than four drives for improved price-performance, and logical RAID volumes can span across multiple 400e expansion chassis’s.

Hardware Details, NAS 400r Series Server
The NAS 400r series is available in 640GB, 1TB, and 1.6TB configurations. Each features a high-speed Serial ATA storage subsystem; support for RAID levels 0, 1 and 5; dual Gigabit Ethernet ports; a high-speed Ultra 320 SCSI port; and dual USB 2.0 ports. Other performance-oriented features include the use of Intel® Pentium® 4 HT (Hyper-Threading) processors in the 1TB and 1.6TB systems, enabling software to run faster and more efficiently.

Software
Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2003, a member of the Windows Server System family, is standard with all NAS 400r models. The 400r series servers benefit from performance improvements, support for larger volume sizes and more files per volume. File share management capabilities of the Microsoft Distributed File System (DFS) and Encrypting File System (EFS) provide easy assignment and protection of shares. All models also support the Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy Service (VSS), which lets IT managers set up point-in-time snapshot copies of their files that users can recover without an IT administrator or costly recoveries of tape. As a result, productivity is increased and customers lower the cost of operating their IT infrastructures while IT administrators gain time to focus on aligning IT with business goals.

All NAS 400r servers also ship with Iomega Automatic Backup Pro software, a complete client backup solution with unlimited licenses for client PCs. Also included with each NAS 400r server is a full version of Computer Associates eTrust® Antivirus software, which provides continuous virus protection.

The NAS 400r 1.6TB model also includes Microsoft Windows Print Server for server-based printing with improved printer reliability, manageability, and security, as well as Microsoft Exchange support, which frees up the Exchange Server to focus on processing email and communication transactions. The NAS device takes over the task of delivering files to the appropriate user from the Exchange databases, improving throughput and manageability.

Price and Availability
The StorCenter Pro NAS 400e Expansion Chassis is expected to begin shipping in late February for $3,399. Iomega StorCenter Pro NAS 400r servers are shipping now for availability through value-added resellers and distributors, as well as online at www.iomega.com.
