Agilent Technologies’ New Solder Paste Inspection System Available Feb. 15

The Medalist SP50 Series 3 Dual Laser SPI System Offers Defect Coverage Down to 01005 Level

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) will release its new Solder Paste Inspection (SPI) platform - with defect coverage down to the 01005 level - on Feb. 15, 2009.

The Agilent Medalist SP50 Series 3 Dual Laser SPI solution is for customers who need to inspect, test and measure inline 3-D solder paste for defects. Designed to meet the growing demands of the surface mount technology (SMT) industry, the SP50 Series 3 Dual Laser is the fourth generation of SPI available from Agilent.

The new SP50 Series 3 has best-in-class throughput as well as a simplified GUI for easy use by engineers and operators alike. The dual laser configuration enhances the SP50 Series 3 coverage by eliminating any inconsistencies in the measurement accuracy through removal of any shadowing effect that could be seen on a single laser inspection system. These features help new and experienced operators achieve maximum inspection results quickly on the fast-paced SMT line.

As part of this product launch, Agilent will offer a discount on the system price for the first six months of the product life.
