New Private IP Nodes, Expanded Ethernet Capabilities Provide Efficient, Secure, Robust Access to Next-Generation Business Solutions

SINGAPORE - Verizon Business has further enhanced its global Private IP footprint to support the evolving data needs of its global customer base. The company has added a significant number of Private IP nodes in key markets across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific, and has also enhanced Ethernet access capabilities in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America.

As a result, customers can now, more than ever, benefit from a direct and secure, cost-efficient link to the Verizon Business global multiprotocol-label-switching (MPLS) network, the foundation for Verizon Business’ portfolio of next-generation products and services.

Verizon Business is continuing to invest in its global Private IP network, which provides the foundation for optimizing business processes between companies, including solutions like e-commerce, immersive video and global mobility, allowing customers to optimize the cost of running their global business. Based on MPLS technology, Verizon Private IP is a network-based, virtual private network (VPN) that offers customers secure, scalable and flexible network connections with integrated performance and traffic-management capabilities.

New Verizon Private IP nodes have now been established in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (Capetown, Casablanca, Dubai, Istanbul, Reykjavik and St. Petersburg), and Asia-Pacific (Bangalore, Bangkok, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jakarta, Karachi, Lahore, Mumbai and Taipei). New partnerships have been set up to extend in country coverage in China, Japan, Poland and Saudi Arabia. Verizon Private IP nodes are now available to customers in 146 global markets, with expansion in progress, in particular to enhance diversity options in key individual locations.

In addition, to accommodate the growing number of organisations adopting Ethernet as a key access technology, Verizon Business has again expanded the number of locations from which it offers Ethernet access to Private IP. New or additional diverse Ethernet interconnections are available in Buenos Aires, Lima, Mexico City, Monterrey, Panama City and Rio de Janeiro in Latin America; as well as in Bangalore, Bangkok, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jakarta, Mumbai, New Delhi, Shanghai, Taipei and Tokyo in the Asia-Pacific region.

Verizon Business also has now certified 173 Ethernet access services from 107 third-party Ethernet providers for use with its Private IP, Ethernet and Public IP services to provide broad in-region Ethernet access coverage across Europe, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. Ethernet adoption is particularly being driven by companies wishing to migrate to a converged IP environment or enhance application availability to their global network of offices.

Tom Roche, Verizon Business vice president of product marketing, said: “The ongoing expansion of Verizon Business’ global Private IP footprint reflects our commitment to investing in our global infrastructure to help our customers achieve total cost-of-ownership efficiencies for their evolving converged voice, data and multimedia application needs. Private IP is used by many of our global customers as the secure, scalable foundation on which they can build their future business-critical communications tools and services.
