West Point Thoroughbreds Announces Partnership with New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc.

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ (January 13, 2009) – West Point Thoroughbreds and the New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. have announced the formation of a strategic alliance between the two entities. The agreement includes, among other things, promotional and marketing opportunities for each entity with the other. It will encourage participation from members of each in the other with the ultimate goal of bettering the sport of horse racing. Both companies are committed to strengthening the sport through stronger breeding and marketing and feel this will be a solid step towards achieving those goals.

West Point Thoroughbreds is a fractional racehorse ownership company that allows clients to buy interests in racehorses. President Terry Finley, who founded West Point Thoroughbreds in 1991, was proud to announce the alliance saying, “We have always supported the New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. and believe very strongly in what it is they do.” Finley continued, “For us, entering into a relationship with a company that is devoted to the best interests of the sport of horse racing, and the future of the sport in the state of New York was really a no-brainer. We are proud of our brand and proud to be associated with the NYTB.”

The New York Thoroughbred Breeders, Inc. was equally pleased to announce the new relationship. “The NYTB was formed as an organization dedicated to advancing the interests of those individuals involved in the New York breeding and racing industry. Working with organizations who value New York breeding and racing such as West Point Thoroughbreds will help continue the New York program’s growth,” said Executive Director Jeffrey Cannizzo.

Both entities are aware of how important the concept of racehorse partnerships are to horse racing, and how they encourage more people to become involved with the sport as a whole. “We support programs whose goal it is to bring more people to the sport and introduce them to the world of horse racing. That is the concept behind our partnerships, and this relationship between the NYTB and WPT is an extension of the mission to bring new energy to the sport and more people to the game,” said Finley.

Cannizzo continued, “We work with entities that support the industry and participate in the activities that foster the continued success of Thoroughbred breeding and racing in New York State in particular, as well as at the national level. We are thrilled the partners at West Point Thoroughbreds will be involved in our association.”
